ARCW Medical Center Hires Third Physician

Milwaukee - The AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin recently hired Dr. Christine Hogan to serve as the third physician in the ARCW Medical Center. Dr. Hogan’s addition to the ARCW Medical Center staff comes at a key time as the agency continues to expand access to medical care for HIV patients throughout the state.

“With new patient intakes at the ARCW Medical Center at an all-time record high level, it is essential we attract talented and experienced health care providers to care for the more than 800 patients,” ARCW medical director Dr. John Fangman said. “Dr. Hogan brings a wealth of research and teaching experience to ARCW and has a reputation as a compassionate and skilled clinician.'

“I am very excited to be joining the ARCW Medical Center during this tremendous time of growth and expansion,” Dr. Hogan said. “With the tremendous advancements in HIV care and treatment now available through the ARCW Medical Center, I am looking forward to developing long-term relationships with HIV patients and working with them to keep or regain their health and reach an undetectable viral load.”

Dr. Hogan, a Brookfield native, has an impressive career working with people living with HIV.  Following her graduation from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, Dr. Hogan completed her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and her infectious disease fellowship at Columbia University in New York City.  She also did work with the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in New York on acute HIV infection prior to coming back to Wisconsin and starting with ARCW.

“The ARCW Medical Center is a top-notch clinic providing outstanding service to a growing number of patients who have traditionally not had access to care,” Dr. Hogan continued.  “I am truly looking forward to being a part of making a positive difference in the lives of people living with HIV.”
