After winning 3 grand slams in 2011, Novak Djokovic is really flying high. However, the Slovak never seems complacent as he now looks to Golden torch to overcome his final frontiers – the Roland Garros and an Olympic Gold. In a recent interview, however, Djokovic made it clear that he is preparing himself for the big stage coming soon.
Djokovic is preparing himself for the Big Stage
This comes as a pleasant surprise in an era when most of the professional tennis players dont pay much attention to the biggest sporting event on earth. In his career, the Slovak has won Davis Cup and three out for four grand slams. The last one involved the longest Grand Slam final at Australian Open against Rafael Nadal. When Djokovic was asked whether he would like to win the Olympic Gold or Roland Garros, he quipped that he wants both. However, he has kept his feet firmly on ground to make his dream come true.
While explaining the mystery behind his breathtaking success in the last year or so, Djokovic stressed on his improved fitness and time management skills. He said that he has learned how to handle himself in and outside the court. Still, he admits that winning the two accolades is not going to be an easy one. However, he aims at reaching the top of his form before Roland Garros. Only after winning it will he set his eye on the ensuing Wimbledon and London Olympics. Certainly, it will be a tough task, especially with Nadal looking to repeat his Beijing Olympic feat.
Best chance for Djokovic
Though challenging, Djokovic will certainly be high on confidence. He has beaten Nadal in seven finals back to back and that will make him confident. While going through the form of his lifetime, Djokovic has the best chance to grab it now, and he is eager to grab it all.
